This is a video demonstrating a cochlear implant surgery. In this surgery performed by Dr. Hamid Djalilian, a soft technique is used to not open the cochlea without perilymph leakage. This technique has been found to improve the chance of hearing preservation. Dr. Djalilian has been able to preserve hearing even after placing a full length electrode.
