Can you tell me more about your hearing loss? My son is 14 months old and he has severe hearing loss in his left ear and severe/profound in his right. I’ve been wondering how his speech will progress. Your speech is normal, and I was wondering if you were born with the hearing loss, and when you first had you CI implanted. Thanks.

Thanks for your questions. I was born with hearing loss but was not identified until I was 3 almost 4 years old. Had my first ear infection and they found out then. The cause of my hearing loss is due to EVA or LVAS. As a result my loss was progressive. At 6 years old I had a mild -moderate high frequency loss and now in my left ear I have moderate to profound loss (corner audiogram) I received my cochlear implant 3 years ago this month after I loss all my hearing in that ear. Thanks for the review. It would be nice to have an idea of the actual battery life for normal batteries. I just got mine yesterday, so I’m sure at some point I’ll find out.

Roberson for 10 Packs (60 Batteries) Power One Cochlear Implant Batteries! 60 Batteries Rating: Good brand, I believe these are original batteries for my Nucleus Freedom as received from Cochlear. Generally lasts 2-3 days with regular (8-12 hours per day) usage. I was suprised by the packaging, as the batteries came as ten bubble wrapped packages in a plastic bag, but no harm no foul, and shipping was free. And fast, I received the batteries within 2 days of placing my order. Definitely my provider of choice from now on.
