Girls: Would you date a man with hearing aids? (the small in-the-canal ones)?

Yes, they are in-the-canal

I am somewhat insecure about them, I am only 17, and have been wearing them ever since I was three. My English-Language skills surpass many of my peers, but just recently became wary of them when I got my hair cut (My hair used to be long so as to conceal my "secret", back in my Junior High/Freshman days). I noticed people’s reaction changed towards me. Anyway, my closest friends and peers quickly adjusted to them , and so have I. However, I feel like I will never have a girlfriend in high school. There are lots of nice girls at my school, yet I feel like none of them are interested in me in terms of a relationship. I’ve never asked them what they feel about my obvious disability, for fear of not recieving a honest answer. So my question is:

Ladies, would you ever date a man with a hearing loss and wears a hearing aid?

Sure I would (if I wasn’t married, and I was a LOT younger), what difference would that make? Just be yourself, you sound like a nice person. Be friendly, and open. Show girls respect, and you will catch the eye of a nice young lady that you like and even if she notices your hearing aids, if she really likes you that will not make any difference. If she asks then you have answered these questions for some of your other friends and they accepted them. I am willing to bet that a girl who wants to be your girlfriend would accept them too.

Not all girls are shallow, if you are nice, some sweet young thing is going to give you a smile one day, just smile back that’s how it all starts.

    Have a good time!

it would depend on your attitude and personality, not a bit of plastic in your ears. if i were you id ignore they were there. dont mention it. if people know its an issue for you it may become an issue for them

    Yes I would :)

That in and of itself is NOT a reason to pass up a great guy :)

wouldn’t make a diff to my decision to date a guy at all its just a hearing aid. its not like you have 3 ears sticking out of your face. :D

when i was in high school i probably would have not just because being afraid of what others might think about meif i did that.

now you look at life 8 years later and i am 26, it would not matter to me, if that special someone is a good friend of yours ask them i know how it hurts to be rejected but think about all the what ifs you would have risked in the future.

maybe meet someone online and tell them you have this right away, and see how it goes from there.

any girl who would judge you because of that doesn’t deserve you! hearing loss does not make up a man’s character.

Sure. Who cares if you can’t hear without a hearing aid? I run into things if I take out my contacts =) People are people. Your need to use hearing aids doesn’t change that.

Don’t be concerned if you haven’t had a girlfriend yet. High school is a crazy time for everyone (girls included.) Once you get out into the real world, you’ll find people alot more interesting.

    don;t be superficial!

Yes. Dont worry about the present. Regret to inform you that in high school, both girls and boys go crazy. The priorities are so vastly screwed up that you are bound to feel alienated at times. The catch is….. everyone is feeling alienated due to some reason or the other.

When women grow up, priorities change, expectations from a man change. Then things like your impairment just do not matter.

Till you grow up and till you find a woman who appreciates you only for who you are…. get ready for a roller coaster ide. Best of luck !! and Enjoy !! With the right attitude this will be the best ride of your life.

I would but a lot of females wouldnt because of this stereotypical world. You are you are and u need somebody who will love u for that not girls who didnt give u chance for that reason. they’re shallow and u deserve better.

Yes I would. It doesn’t matter if you wear hearing aids.
