Do you have a pounding device (like an air horn) that is safer for contiuous vs opereration hearing?

I am working on a project that uses an air horn very strong and wondered what the effect on hearing the horn by pressing security in any interval would have. Your use of continuously emits a 155 dB tone of 220 Hz, I would like to be safer. I'm not worried about me, but people who are nearby. We are shooting this in a small chamber to vibrate the particles, and are in the process of isolating the camera to weaken the sound out. Am looking for other options to use in addition.

I guess intermittent sounds are best handled by the ear drums. Even so, it is best to consult with a medical professional and sound engineer for sound-proof chamber.
