Dr. Bill Hodgetts (L) and Dr. Jeff Pugh (R) are leading projects that received support for commercialization from the Western Economic Partnership Agreement program. Dr. Hodgetts manages the bone conduction amplification clinical program. His research involves developing and refining the selection, verification, and validation of fitting procedures for bone anchored hearing aids. The project aims to provide a commercial technology to improve the performance of these devices for patients. Dr. Pugh is a neurosurgeon whose WEPA-supported project is developing a more reliable and precise brain fluid shunt. Hydrocephalus is a common occurrence in infants and is also associated with some dementias. Dr. Pugh and his team have developed a shunt that uses microfluidic technology.
